She has a PhD in Social Sciences specialized in Political Science from FLACSO-Mexico (Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences). She is a member of the National Researchers System and of the Mexican Academy of Sciences. Her academic works include the following books:Conducting researches in order to influences: reflections on the challenges and tasks of the contemporary social scientist: Mexico, Mora Institute, 2011 (coordinated with Simone LUCATELLO). Superheroes do not exist. Mexican migrants before the first elections abroad. y The political dimension or Mexican migration, co-authored with Jesús Martínez Saldaña. She also coordinated the book Voting from a distance, the extension of political rights to migrants, compared experiences. Moreover, she has published many chapters and chapters of research and dissemination in the fields of political sociology of migration. She has been professor in several higher education institutions and dissertation supervisor in her specialization field. She is member of the Editorial Council of the CEMCA and coordinator of the website www.migrantologos.mx. She is also member of the Sponsorship of the Mexican Civil Association Without Frontiers A.P. of the advisor committee of the Women in Migration Institution (IMUMI) and advisor of the organization Mexicans in exile.
